The Dinner by Herman Koch

Used. Paperback. Four well-heeled adults gather at a fancy Amsterdam restaurant to break bread and dodge the truly unpalatable truth about their offspring. Herman Koch’s pitch-black Dutch bestseller serves up a simmering psychological suspense where parental loyalty is put through the culinary grinder. It is a delightfully cynical slice of literary fiction that questions just how far you would go to coddle a criminal in the family. Pull up a chair and order cautiously, because this gripping course in moral calculus will leave your stomach thoroughly tied in knots.
