Beauty and the Beast - Movie Posters - Jean Cocteau

Before Disney, before every retelling that followed, there was Jean Cocteau's La Belle et la Bête (1946) — a film so visually ravishing it feels less like cinema and more like a dream you can't quite shake. Candelabras held by human arms. A Beast who weeps. A rose that means everything.

Josette Day and Jean Marais brought a tenderness to this fairy tale that no special effect has ever matched. Cocteau didn't adapt the story — he inhabited it, frame by frame, with the eye of a poet and the heart of a romantic.

This vintage movie poster print is for those who know that the most beautiful things are always a little dangerous.
